BabySplurge.com

So my sister in-law has me so addicted to this website www.BabySteals.com I am starting to actually think it should be called BabySlurge.com.  Last night I was reading my Nook and I can get on the internet with the nook and I realized that it was 11pm.  They usually have a new "steal" at 10 at night and 10 in the morning so I decided to check out what it was and it was a necklace that is supposed to help babies with teething pain and it was 50% off so I ran downstairs so I could order one and they were all sold out :( so this morning I eagerly waited at the computer and when the clock struck 10:00 am I was there to see what the steal was and I would know that I would have time to get whatever the "steal" was.

This is what it was:
It is the Saranoni Lush Blanket
look how soft that looks!

It is usually priced at 120 dollars but it was on this website for 60.  So I had to get it.  I ordered it and the shipping turned out to be 17 dollars so I almost spent about 80 on this blanket but it is going to be worth it, I am such a sucker when it comes to soft blankies and this one is for adults! I have been wanting to paint my living room sage green with ivory/cream accents such as a throw blanket and some pillows so this is going to fit in perfectly with my vision :) But I don't care who you are, 80 dollars for a blanket is not a steal, its a splurge LOL Chad was not too happy but I'm sure he will change his tune when hes snuggling in this luxurious blanket!  Anne (my sister in-law) got one too! THEY SOLD OUT IN 18 MINUTES! How crazy is that!? I am so incredibly excited to get this I can't stop thinking about it! So anyways I will be watching to see what the "steal" is again at 10 pm but I don't think I will be able to splurge on anything for a while...unless its really awesome LOL

Update and Easter

Since both kids are taking a nap right now (a rare occasion) and I haven't blogged in such a long time I decided it would be the perfect time, even though I am ITCHING to finish the book I am reading.  I have been so addicted to reading lately it is ridiculous, I am reading about a book a week and that has never in my life ever happened. I am reading The bright side of disaster, by Katherine Center.  An author who I recently discovered when I read the book Everyone is beautiful by her. That book was so good it is now one of my favorite books of all time, and I really love this new book too! It is so funny because I was just telling Chad how now that I have children, I feel like before I was missing out on so much in life.  All I cared about was going out and partying that I didn't realize that you can have fun in SOO many other ways, I picked up reading and have actually started trying to cook more when before I only made Mac and Cheese.  I do crafty things now, and I really can't wait to start painting again, I have added things on my bucket list such as learning the piano, taking a cooking class, and learning a new language. This would have never been goals in my past life!  Life with kids is good, I am never hung over, I feel smarter, and healthier because I do not drink even a 4rth of what I used to!  I am so glad that I am in this stage of life because I am really content with it and love it!

So easter was this past weekend and we did our usual dress in PEEP color shirts.  This year we all wore Ralph Lauren polo shirts (my husbands favorite) I actually liked wearing a polo, I haven't for years, and it was never Ralph Lauren. I used to wear Abercrombie ones when I worked there, and some Old Navy.  It is so funny because I got mine from Marshall's and little miss Aubrey's was from Von Maur so you can only guess how much more hers cost, but it was a gift from my Mom so it worked out in our favor :).  So funny!
Those are some of my favorite pics of us, also I took my love for PEEPS to a whole new level this year and made a sunflower cake out of peeps...YUM, let me tell you frosting is good on them!
isn't it just fabulous?

I feel like I gained 10 lbs just from this weekend with all the yummy food and candy I ate and my little Tyler is still recovering from all the sugar highs! LOL.

In other news, I am getting sugary (nothing too serious, even tho I would LOVE a nose job) on my face on Thursday, I have to get a cyst removed and I think its gonna suck to have done :( Its by my nose and its not too noticeable but since its on my face it is annoying me enough to get it taken care of. Since it IS on my face I have to go to the plastic surgeon for it because my Doctor would not touch it because of scarring reasons, I'm getting pretty nervous about it but I don't think it really will be too bad, I am still going to get a ride there JUST in case I feel a little woozy afterward! Wish me luck!

We also have some life changing ideas that we have been tossing around...MOVING! Our house just is not what we want anymore, we hate being on a different level then our kids, it makes me so paranoid for obvious reasons, someone breaking in, and a fire, and not being able to get to my kids fast enough just drives me crazy.  I think I would just sleep better knowing they were close to me, also we hate our kitchen, it is not big enough for 4 chairs at our table and we now have a 4 person family and family meals are really important to us that we eat at the table together instead of in front of the TV.  I feel like it really makes your family stay close growing up when you have daily group conversations!  Not to mention we have hardly any counter space and not enough cabinets! We need more storage...we have come up with a plan and I think we are going to do a few more things to this house this summer and put it on the market after.  Then once we have it sold is when we will look for our dream home!  I think this will be hard, but in the end it will work out better for our family, I would rather move before Tyler starts school so we don't have to switch schools.  Anyways its not 100 percent but we pretty much have our minds made up that that is what we want to do.

Well I am going to get back to my book until the little ones wake up, I hope everyone had a great Easter!

A few different topics

Happiest Baby On the Block

For the past 2 nights Aubrey has slept for 7 hours straight!!!! Then I feed her and she goes back to bed for a few more hours, it is AMAZING!  I don't think my body is used to this much sleep because when I put her back to bed in the morning I can't seem to go back to sleep weather its 5 or 6 AM and I find myself doing housework just so I can stay on top of things, how is that fair that everyone is sleeping and I am working?!? Oh well, life as a Mommy right?

So I think part of the reason she is sleeping more at night is because she is awake more during the day and the formula she switched to is helping her so much!!! Another reason is because I read the Happiest Baby On the Block, it gives you several techniques to calm a baby, but my friend Paige (who just had a baby a month ago) brought over the actual DVD of the Dr, who wrote the book.  It actually SHOWS you the techniques, and I am more of a visual learner so it really helped.  I learned how to swaddle Aubrey SUPER tight so her arms don't wake her up and boy oh boy does it work!  Anybody who just or is having a baby really should check out the DVD, or the book for that matter.  It has helped me so much
Cheetah Girls...OK so I am a little obsessed with animal print, but I openly admit to it so that makes it OK right?  The funny thing is, I could have been wearing my own Cheetah print shirt as well.

Another awesome book that I have been reading is called Potty Training Boys the easy way This book has given me some amazing tips on how to potty train a little boy...According to this book Tyler might not be quite ready in the Mental aspect of it, but the Physical he is ready...I do however think I am going to keep working with him because during one of our "sessions" when we had nothing on his bottom he started to go number 2 so I plopped him down on the potty and he went! YAY!!! He was so excited when I cheered for him that I think it could of helped motivate him more, I also gave him some M&Ms and he was in heaven.  I let him flush them down and he said "bye bye poopies" he ended up flushing the toilet over and over but that's OK.  As long as he knows what the toilet is for, I am making him a Potty Chart and bought some gold stars so that can be another reward system.  This may take days, weeks, or even months but I am not going to lose my cool, its just another wonderful part of being a Mommy!
"bye bye poopies!" (sorry Mom, I had to put this one up, his butt is just too cute!)

On to another subject...ME! HAHA So I have been on Weight Watchers since a couple weeks after Aubrey was born and I have lost 35 lbs...I still have 15 more pounds to go and I feel like I am at a diet plateau because I am already eating the lowest amount of points that you can (and still be healthy verses starving yourself) I am getting a little frustrated with it because on the old points system it was so easy for me to lose weight and not have to do anything exercise wise. Well I know that I need to work out, and I actually WANT to work out, but I have NO TIME at all to myself...I can't wait to start going for more walks until Aubrey is old enough when I join the gym...They take them at 6 weeks old but I just am not ready to have someone watch her who I have no clue who they are...Trust issues, it doesn't help that either of my kids have never been in daycare (other than the 2 short months Tyler was when he was a baby forever ago) so I just am not used to leaving the kids with ANYONE but my own Mother! Anyways wish me luck on losing this weight! I have a dress that I want to fit into by May for a wedding we are going to!

Another thing that has been bothering me is my hair...I am at an in between length and I don't know if I should just cut it, or stick with it and grow it long again...I like my hair both ways, my husband likes it long. I feel cuter with it short, but prettier with it long...LOL I know, my problems are SO hard! (sarcasm) anyways here are a couple pictures...and I want opinions!
Short
Long
Alright, I guess this blog has turned into a long one so I will wrap it up, we are leaving for the Water Park tomorrow and I am SO excited but a little sad to leave Aubrey for the first time over night. She will be with my Mom so I KNOW she is in great hands, but you all know how it is...you just miss your baby! I can't wait until she is old enough to go to things like this with us!! :) Will be posting how it was soon! Have a GREAT weekend everyone!

Terrific Twos

So everyone always talks about how terrible age 2 is, and yes my son is NOT a PERFECT angel, BUT he is pretty dang close I think. He is learing so much so fast and just so much fun to be around. He makes me laugh daily at the funny things he says/does.  He is also getting very helpful.  I can ask him to go fetch me things, The other day he even went upstairs to get me my hairbrush when I asked him to. What a good boy.

 Potty Training Challenge
I usually don't like when people feel the need to announce every detail of potty training on Facebook, but I thought I would talk about it on my blog so only the people who are interested can read :) Man he looks like such a big boy in his undies!  Today we started the potty training challenge. I have been waiting for him to show all the signs that he is ready to be potty trained and he just now has showed me them...My ultimate goal is to have him trained by the time he is 3. I have heard it is harder to train boys so wish me luck! We already had an accident but here is my strategy that I am going to take in no particular order:

1. Try pull-ups.  I feel like diving straight into undies like I did today is going to give my husband a panic attack every time he has an accident.  So I am going to try to get him used to the idea of pulling his pants up and down and sitting on the potty...Once he is used to it, then I am going to put him back in his big boy undies

2.  If he doesn't get it one day, then tell him its OK and put a diaper on him and start over the next morning.  I do not want him to feel pressured AT ALL.
3.  M&Ms will be my best friend for when he does it in the potty

4.  Reward him with a fish-tank in his room since we will be able to take the changing pad off his dresser.

5.  Put him on the Potty every 5-15 minutes...

6.  Try to really stick through it the most on the weekends when Chad is here to help me with Aubrey.

7.  Make sure my husband is on the same page with me...
8.  Teach him to sit first, then when he has that down then target practice with fruity cheerios.

9.  Be his cheerleader

10.  last but not least, if he doesn't get it by age 3 I am not going to be upset about it, its hard when his baby sister has me changing her diaper all the time and he sees it, but I really think he is going to succeed in this! I HAVE to stay positive!

He is such a cool dude!

Now for Aubrey news:
So sleeeeeeepy!

So on Thursday my baby girl will already be 2 months old!!! I can't believe how fast that 2 months flew by! I think part of it was trying to figure out her belly issues. Witch by the way she has been doing soo soo much better with that.  We went to the Dr yesterday and she weighed 11 lbs 13 oz already! So she actually is gaining weight pretty good.. that is something they usually look for in Reflux babies. She is still spitting up a lot tho so the Dr recommended putting a little rice cereal in her formula to help her keep more down.

She is starting to smile a lot and coo, it is so stinkin cute!!! She looks more and more like a person and less like a blob baby.   I am so excited that it is getting nicer out because I can't wait to put her in all her cute little dresses and diaper covers :) I also want to get her a pair of Ruffle Butts since they have a lot more prints and colors now! It is so great having a little girl so I can girlie her up! Ok well time to run! I feel like I am so busy busy busy lately and I don't even ever leave the house! (well I do, but not like I used to) Have a good weekend!
